The Mission of RUF
love for god
We believe our greatest purpose in life is to glorify and enjoy God himself. Therefore, our passion is to see students grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). This involves studying God's revelation of himself in Scripture, seeking his face in prayer, living lives both pleasing to God and compelling to those outside the faith, serving those in need, and loving Christ's body, the Church.
Love for god's people
RUF is an arm of the Church, extended onto the college campus. We believe the church is a group of redeemed sinners who are "God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we might walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). We seek to serve those on the campus and in our community for Christ's sake, and to foster a love for Christ's church in the hearts of college students. By growing in the fruit of the Spirit, and using the different gifts God has given to each of us for the good of others, we live out Scripture's command to be faithful stewards of God's grace (1 Peter 4:10).
love for god's world
We believe that all truth is God's truth. Therefore, it is our goal to see students develop a thoroughly biblical way of looking at all of life, taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:15). By growing in their knowledge of the whole counsel of God, students take on a uniquely Christian philosophy of life that touches on every aspect of their daily experience - from attending classes, to choosing a career path, to falling in love and getting married.
love for the lost
It is an exhilarating joy to be part of the advancement of God's Kingdom. RUF seeks to reach non-Christian students with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and to equip Christian students to participate in that mission. By preaching and teaching the good news of the Kingdom of God to students, and by connecting students to opportunities for short-term mission trips, RUF seeks to follow Jesus Christ in seeking and saving those who are lost (Luke 19:10).
